History:

Will Davidson Earthworks Ltd was established in 2013. Initially contracting to Ralph Ogg Contracting, and then officially taking over Ralph Ogg Contracting in 2017.

Ralph Ogg Contracting has been a prominent local business operating throughout the Selwyn District since the 1980s. Ralph began operating a bulldozer in his early years for his father Stan, mainly developing their family farm in Otahuna and for other local farmers in the area. The business was called SE Ogg & Son.

This allowed Ralph to purchase the BP Service Station in Tai Tapu. A few years later his passion for business grew further to form a sideline business with Allan Williamson & Bruce McKay, called UTF Contractors (Us Tree Fellas). This business bought their first excavator, specialising in tree felling & firewood.

In the late 80s, Ralph bought out the partners and changed the name to Ralph Ogg Contracting Limited, this business has been operating for over 30 years. You can find Ralph still doing the odd job or you can catch him for a morning coffee, Monday to Friday, at his Challenge petrol station in Tai Tapu.

About:

As an owner-operator, I take personal pride in my work and set out to exceed my clients' expectations.

My focus is to offer an affordable excavation service to the locals of Tai Tapu and the wider Selwyn & Banks Peninsula districts.

I graduated from Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Valuation and Property Management in 2011. I was then selected in the NZ Black Sticks Squad and debut against Japan in 2014.

Although I studied Valuation and Property Management, I have always had a passion for earthmoving and machinery. Working alongside Ralph Ogg in these early days allowed me to develop and build on my excavation knowledge and skills, whilst also playing hockey for New Zealand.

Will Davidson Earthworks Ltd has developed a strong reputation for service in the Selwyn District, and as such, a large portion of my work is repeated work or referrals from satisfied customers. I am committed to developing strong relationships with new and existing clients.

Will Davidson Earthworks Ltd is underpinned by three core values. Firstly, being Client Focused, it is my passion to help bring my clients' ideas to life. This can only be achieved with reference to my second core value, Communication, I aim to approach every job individually and work with my clients to achieve a cost effective, site specific outcome. Thirdly, Health and Safety for staff, clients, sub contractors and the general public is paramount. I am committed to zero harm in the work place.
